[OOC] A Night of Ice and Steel: Races

Forum for completely Out of Character (OOC) discussion, based around whatever is happening In Character (IC). Discuss plans, storylines, and events; Recruit for your roleplaying game, or find a GM for your playergroup.
Civilized Races

• Human: Humans are, in any given world, the majority presence and, more often than not, the dominant one. While not particularly long-lived, they're clever, industrious, and stubborn. Their skillsets are many and varied, and, as a result, Humans can hold almost any profession.
• Elves: Elves are slightly more rare than their cousins; the Humans. The are second in dominance in the Realm of Steel. They are exceptionally long-lived, highly intelligent in the later years, oriented with nature on a level that most cannot fathom, and are beyond graceful. Their skillsets are just as ranged as humans but even more so, having options in professions that Humans cannot withstand mentally, or physically.
• Dwarves: Dwarves are almost the shortest civilized race in the Realm of Steel, and just as rare as Elves. They grow great long beards, and are stout creatures with great strength. Having dwelled in the mountains their entire existence, they are masters of petrology, mining, and metal working. They may be a little slow to recall events or long-winded when sharing those events, but make no mistakes, Dwarves can be just as witty as the Elves or Humans.
• Halfling: Halflings are just like humans in all respects aside from the fact that they are only have the size! This limits them greatly in choices of professions. Most stay away from larger cities and dwell in towns on the outskirts of the Elysian Kingdom. They are very adept at farming and raising live stock. The best bards in all the lands are always halfling, and they do love to dance whenever the opportunity crops up!

Monstrous Races

• Orc: Orcs are a beast-like race noted for their barbarianism. They do not recognize male from female and there is no social class within the Orc Tribes. They value strength only and will not think twice to kill someone for any given reason?or no reason at all. They are violent, strong, and ruthless. There will never come a time where another person finds an Orc without their weapon as they are warrior-people and very much so feared by all the civilized races.
• Drow: Drow are the brothers and sisters of the Elves albeit dark-skinned, silver haired, and red eyed. They are cunning, treacherous, traitorous, sadistic, and cruel. They rule the underground world beneath the Realm of Ice; a frozen and barren land. Drow do not come to the surface world unless they have a dominating ulterior motive. Not in a thousand years has a Drow been seen in the civilized world, or even on the surface of the Ice Realm.
• Draconic: Draconics are the descendants of the Great Dragons. Hooves for feet, horns at their crowns, and scaled tails which can double as an effective weapon. They appear more as a beast than humanoid; a bastardization of Dragonkin and Humans. They were created as slaves for the dragons and then cast out when they were no longer needed, replaced by Humans, Elves, and Dwarves. Being carnivores and the Ice Realm holding no game to devour, they became cannibalistic. Draconics are by far more deadly than Orcs or the Drow by sheer visual and brute strength.
• Forlorn: Forlorn are humans which were warped into undead beings, created by a single, sadistic, soul whose name is never uttered in the civilized world. All throughout the Realm of Ice, the Forlorn sleep beneath the Great Glaciers, waiting until their Master returns from whence he was sent after the Banishing. The Forlorn cannot die easily, do not sleep, and feed on any flesh they can get their skeletal, rotting hands on. Their numbers could easily destroy both the Realm of Ice and the Realm of Steel for there are so many suspended beneath the frozen wastelands.

Game Master Note: I am willing to add races but if they will hold a major part in the over-arching story remains to be decided. If you have a race you would like to be added, please do post here and make the request or PM me on RPG. Also, so far, only Civilized Races are playable at this point. Once the story progresses to where the Realm of Ice is unlocked, I will allow previous and future users to utilize the more ambitious races.
